Because I said it was blogtoberfest...
Because what's the point of taking all these photos if I don't share them...
Because reliving summer makes me happy...
And seeing these faces makes me smile...
And because the day's not quite over yet {oops that was two weeks ago and yes it is... I can never let blogging interfere with my work time so tonight I'm letting it interfere with my sleep time-- watch out in the morning, family!}...
A 4th of July weekend (ridiculously excessive) photo dump. Internets, forgive me.
Alternate titles for this post:
--How to make your friends hate you by putting unauthorized swimsuit photos on the world wide web
--really!? that was three months ago
--I'm too lazy to sort these photos into a reasonable semblance of order
--#thereareapproximatelythreepeoplewhowillwanttoreadthis
--turning three nights at a friend's apartment into a "vacation"
--how to feed small messy children in a smaller spotless brand spankin new home; or
--picnicking with fabulously stylish and immensely nutritious meals at the beach
I've been rockin TobyMac's new album --This is Not a Test-- on occasion lately so you should probably hook yourself up while you browse. I haven't been following his music for the past 15 years or so but thanks to this new music age I've randomly come back and seriously I just love this album. I'll wait while you go get it or get Spotify or something... ok here goes.
When friends move to the beach you obviously have to go crash their new place with your family of five within a week's time, amiright?! Plans for 4th of July? No? Great! (Just kidding-- we kinda-sorta usually spend independence day with these lovelies, and we knew they'd be terribly homesick for chaos, so it wasn't totally rude. I'd even say it was welcomed. My words.)
So...big beach vacation number one... Bob's favorite thing to do was pretend to rescue Owen. They called it the Save the Owie game and it made Bob all big-brotherly proud and it made Owen lose his nerves around the water. (Owen approaches most of our wet destinations with the declaration that he will NOT be going in the water, but then he always leaves the snacks and gets into the fun eventually of course.) And it's amazing how good it feels to watch your kids have a grand old time together.
My roomie in spirit picked up the camera for a bit (thanks! XXOO ;)...
I reclaim credit for these...
Owen's favorite thing to do at the beach is park it and eat snacks. As soon as the tent is set up, he's in there digging for treats. And he pretty much won't stop til we leave. Well honestly he does leave the food occasionally, but you'd be surprised how rarely. You'd be surprised. (Inside joke. Anyone?!)
Proof that Owie does like the beach for more than the food...
I warned you about the randomness and sheer length of this post, didn't I? Here we are at some bits from the actual FOURTH of July...My three little loves in my favorite outfits ever...When Uncle Same popped out Owen disappeared faster than I could screen-tap a photo. And with THAT, independence day took on a whole new meaning...Which mostly involved costumes. We ate out...We beached it...Hit up the arcade...
Back to the timeshare...Oh, the balcony dining life...Oops now the order gets really wonky and I'm too tired and busy to care-- I think we've got the instagram pics, then ben's pics (thanks, love), then back to the condosharepartment and out on the town for ice cream and fireworks with Santa and Super Mario (just in case you were thinking of leaving)...
O's favorite thing to make with legos: head head head head head head head guy.
My fourth of july garb clearly indicates that I should not be allowed to dress myself.
Hold up... how'd we get back to these!?
Still going? Yep. next day... plum island and packing it home and peace out -- my baby's calling and I'm off to bed so you'll have to finish without me. #didmybest #goodnight #hashtagsarentforblogsactually #ifyoumakeittotheendyouareachamp
